Taren Darr is a lifelong outdoorswoman, mom of three, and strong supporter of the Second Amendment. She grew up hunting and fishing in the Pacific Northwest and now shares those same traditions with her own kids—teaching them to be confident, self-reliant, and to love the outdoors.
Taren stepped into the role of Oregon State Director for Women for Gun Rights in spring 2025 and is standing up for gun owners in one of the toughest states in the country. Living in a deep blue state, she believes education is key—because when people learn how to safely use firearms through hunting, training, and hands-on experience, they gain confidence and a deeper respect and understanding for the rights that keep us free.
She’s also active in her local community, serving as a Precinct Committee Person for the Columbia County Republicans and as a Turning Point USA Ambassador. In both roles, she encourages others to speak up, be engaged citizens, vote and stand strong for conservative values.
Outside of her advocacy work, Taren works as the Director of Operations at a conservative media company based in Washington, D.C., where she helps run national campaigns for a wide range of clients.
Whether she’s testifying at the Capitol, taking her kids shooting, or hunting elk in the backcountry, Taren stands by this belief: stronger moms make safer kids.
